September 6th 2008: Serena posted a solid win in windy conditions yesterday, she defeated Dinara Safina with a 6-3, 6-2 win!! She will now face world #2 Jelena Jankovic in tonight's singles final!!!

September 4th 2008: Serena came out with a big win against big sister Venus yesterday night, she won 7-6, 7-6 after making a nice comeback in the 2nd set. “I thought for sure we’d be in three sets,” Serena said. “I thought, ‘I’m going to go change my dress because I’m really sweaty and put a new one on.’ And then I was like, ‘Oh, maybe I won’t have to do that.”’ Up next for Serena will be #6 seed Dinara Safina.

September 1st 2008: Serena advanced to the quarterfinals today as she defeated Severine Bremond with a 6-2, 6-2 win!! She will now face her sister Venus who has been dominant as well so far in the tournament!! “Even the semis would have been better than the quarterfinals, but at least one of us will make it to the semis,” Serena told the crowd during an on-court interview. “I’ve got probably the toughest match of the tournament coming up next, so I’ve got to be ready.”

July 17th 2008: Serena is now back in Stanford playing the Bank of the West Classic in Stanford. Yesterday night, she was in action against Michelle Larcher de Brito in her opening match and needed to fight quite a battle as she ended up winning 4-6, 6-3, 6-2! “It’s definitely encouraging to know I can bounce back. I haven’t been down a set for a while,” Williams said. “It’s the kind of practice I need.” Up next, Serena will face Alisa Kleybanova or Patty Schnyder.

July 14th 2008: Serena was back in action playing in World Team Tennis as she helped her team win 18-16 against Newport thanks to Serena's 5-0 win in singles against Lilia Osterloh and her wins in doubles and mixed doubles:) Serena now heads to Stanford where she will play as the #1 seed. It will be Serena's first event since her loss in the Wimbledon final. “I don’t like losing period, it doesn’t matter to who,” Serena Williams said. “I obviously want to do well so I just have to keep going. I’m just taking it every day at a time. My main goal is to stay fit and healthy and play a full season.”

July 11th 2008: Serena was in action again but her team lost 21-20 despite Serena winning in doubles and mixed doubles (Mashona Washington played and lost in singles).

July 10th 2008: Unfortunately, another loss for Serena's team in WTT. She won her singles match 5-4 against Yaroslava Shvedova and won her doubles but lost in mixed doubles...

July 9th 2008: Serena was back in action yesterday playing in World Team Tennis, for her team the Washington Kastles. Her team lost 22-19 even though Serena won her singles against Marie-Eve Pelletier 5-2. Serena also won in doubles but lost her mixed doubles match..!

July 6th 2008: Well, tough ending for Serena in Wimbledon as she ended up losing her final match against sister Venus 7-5, 6-4... They then regrouped and won the ladies doubles 6-2, 6-2 against Samantha Stosur and Lisa Raymond.

July 3rd 2008: Solid win today for Serena as she won against Jie Zheng, she defeated her Chinese opponent 6-2, 7-6 to reach the Wimbledon final, where she will now face sister Venus. “Our main focus is obviously both of us getting to the final,” Venus said. “Then, from there, it’s every Williams for themself.”
