June 23rd 2009: Good news today as Flavia won her match in the Wimbledon 1st round posting a 3 sets win against Spain's Nuria Llagostera Vives, a 3-6, 6-1, 6-0 win. In the 2nd round, Flavia will face Vania King.

April 30th 2009: Good news today as Flavia won her match in the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix 2nd round posting a 2 sets win against Russia's Nadia Petrova, a 6-2, 6-2 win. In the quarterfinals, Flavia will face Jelena Jankovic.

April 29th 2009: Good news today as Flavia won her match in the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix 1st round posting a 2 sets win against Russia's Anna Chakvetadze, a 6-2, 6-0 win. In the 2nd round, Flavia will face Nadia Petrova.

April 26th 2009: Wow, a very impressive win by Italy this weekend as they reached the Fed Cup final with a 4-1 win over Russia:) Flavia defeated Anna Chakvetadze 6-4, 6-0, then Francesca Schiavone gave Italy a 2-0 lead with a win over Svetlana Kuznetsova. Svetlana then won against Flavia  but a 3 set win by Francesca Schiavone against Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova gave Italy the win! Italy will face USA in the final:)

March 1st 2009: Flavia's tournament came to an end as she lost 6-1, 6-2 in yesterday night's final against American Venus Williams...“What happened to me? Venus Williams is what happened to me. The No.5 player in the world is what happened to me!” Pennetta joked. “She was just playing so strong, serving so well, it was hard to fight against her power. I didn’t feel I played badly, she just overpowered me.

February 8th 2009: Flavia was solid once more today in Fed Cup play!! She defeated Alize Cornet 6-2, 6-2 to give Italy the win! Italy also won the remaining singles (Errani vs Mauresmo) and the doubles match..a 5-0 win and Italy wll now face Russia in the semifinals!

February 7th 2009: Wow, dramatic day today in the Fed Cup 1st round as Italy took a 2-0 lead over France in 2 very close matches! First, Flavia defeated Amelie Mauresmo in a close 2-6, 7-6, 6-4 match.. Then, Francesca Schiavone defeated Alize Cornet 6-1, 2-6, 8-6..!!!!!

January 6th 2009: Flavia and teammate Simone Bolelli ended up winning their 2nd match, a 2-1 win over France. Flavia lost in singles to Alize Cornet but Simone Bolelli won in singles against Gilles Simon and they won in mixed doubles:)

October 19th 2008: Well, after a great week of action, Flavia finally came up a bit short today as she lost the final 7-6, 6-2 against Venus Williams..! “She just played unbelievable today,” the 17th-ranked Pennetta said. “It is tough to play against someone who serves like she did today. I didn’t have any chance to make any breaks.”
