April 11th 2006: Conchita will be announcing her retirement from the WTA tour during this weekend's final of the ATP event in Valencia:( December 19th 2005: Seems like retirement news will not happen this year but Conchita will not play the Australian Open and instead concentrate on clay events.. December 12th 2005: In an interview, Conchita voiced her opinion that she beleives Martina Hingis will not return to the top 10...! November 14th 2005: Last weekend, Conchita and Virginia Ruano-Pascual played the doubles in the Sony Ericsson WTA Championships, they however lost their semifinal match 7-5, 5-7, 6-3 against #2 seeds Raymond and Stosur.. October 27th 2005: Conchita fought hard but got injured and was unable to finish her match, she lost to Daniela Hantuchova 2-6, 6-0, 3-1... October 26th 2005: Conchita is playing in Linz this week, she won her opening match 6-1, 6-1 against Marion Bartoli to set up a match against Daniela Hantuchova. October 20th 2005: Conchita played but lost her first round match in Zurich yesterday, a 6-4, 7-6 loss to Nadia Petrova:( October 17th 2005: After all, Nicole Vaidisova proved to be too much of a challenge as Conchita was ousted 6-3, 6-0 in the quarterfinals. October 13th 2005: Conchita posted a 6-2, 6-0 easy win against Catalina Castano today in Bangkok, she will now face #2 seed Nicole Vaidisova. October 12th 2005: Back in action this time in Thailand, Conchita won her opening match against Tamarine Tanasugarn 6-3, 6-2! August 30th 2005: Conchita's tournament ended today at the US Open as she suffered a 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 against Patty Schnyder... August 19th 2005: Conchita won her second match on Wednesday, a 7-5, 6-2 win against Dinara Safina!:( Amelie lost 6-0, 6-2 in her 3rd round though against Amelie Mauresmo:( August 18th 2005: In what turned out to be quite an emotional match, Conchita won her opening match in Toronto 6-1, 6-7, 7-5 against Anne-Lena Groenefeld. August 15th 2005: Conchita's run in Los Angeles ended as she was defeated by Francesca Schiavone:( August 11th 2005: Conchita advanced today, she led 6-1 against Eleni Daniilidou when her opponent withdrew... August 10th 2005: Conchita posted a 6-4, 6-2 win over Gisela Dulko today in L.A, she will now face Greece's Eleni Daniilidou. August 9th 2005: Conchita posted a 6-1, 6-4 win today in Los Angeles against Mashona Washington, she'll now face Gisela Dulko! |
