August 24th 2004: Yesterday, Maria and Maria Sharapova played their first round in doubles but lost 7-6, 6-3 against Daniela Hantuchvoa and Dinara Safina. Maria will play her match at 6PM today against Mashona Washington.

August 21st 2004: Maria was back in action, trying to qualify in New Haven, she won her first match 7-5, 6-1 against Liga Dekmeijere but then lost against Angela Haynes:(
