October 11th 2008: Wow, a strange match and strange scoreline but Jelena did reach the Kremlin Cup final today defeating Elena Dementieva with a 0-6, 6-0, 6-1 win!! She will now face Vera Zvonareva in tomorrow's final!

October 10th 2008: Good news as Jelena won her match today in the Moscow as she defeated Italy's Flavia Pennetta with a 7-6, 6-3 win, she will now face Elena Dementieva.

October 5th 2008: One day before returning to the top of the WTA rankings, Jelena posted an impressive 6-4, 6-3 win against Nadia Petrova today in Stuttgart! "I'm very proud of winning my second tournament in a row. It wasn't easy coming here from China and I had very tough matches against Zvonareva and Venus, but I'm thrilled to win the Porsche today. This is a great event - one of my favorite tournaments - and having both my parents and my godfather and his wife here made it extra special. Today's match was not the highest level from either of us but I'm happy I was able to hang in there in the end and be the champion."

October 4th 2008: Wow, great performance today by Jelena as she advanced to the singles final, defeating Venus Williams with a 6-7, 7-5, 6-2 win!! In tomorrow's final, Jelena will face Russian Nadia Petrova.

October 3rd 2008: Not an easy win but today Jelena advanced to the semifinals in Stuttgart as she posted a 7-6, 7-6 win against Vera Zvonareva!! In the semis tomorrow, Jelena will face Venus Williams! Should be a great match!

October 2nd 2008: Good news as Jelena won her match today in the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix as she defeated Ukraine's Alona Bondarenko with a 6-2, 6-0 win, she will now face Vera Zvonareva.

September 28th 2008: Jelena did win the final today in Beijing, posting an easier than expected 6-3, 6-2 win against Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova..!!

September 27th 2008: Awesome news as Jelena advanced to the singles final in Beijing defeating Vera Zvonareva with a 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 win! She will now face either Jie Zheng or Svetlana Kuznetsova.
