April 30th 2003: Gallery #95 was just added with 10 new photos of Jelena including the one you see on the right, taken today in Warsaw.

April 30th 2003: Nicely done today by Jelena as she defeated Myriam Casanova 7-5, 7-6 (12). She will now face Ondraskova or Magui Serna in the quarterfinals!

April 29th 2003: Well I got the news a bit late and was asked not to make a big thing out of it but it is, I would like to wish Gerhard a happy birthday:) He has been the staff coordinator for a few months now and has been a major reason why this website has been improving all the time:)

April 29th 2003: Now that we know Jelena's first round opponent (Myriam Casanova), it's a good time to receive all the info about the Warsaw tournament, see it here. Also, we just received Gerhard's match preview here:)

April 28th 2003: With only a few days before Jelena playing her first match in Warsaw, now is the time for this week's edition of Jelena's Corner, see it here. I must say a huge thanks to Todd. I think that many of you have been avid readers of Todd's work which is extraordinary and seeing him publish his 100th column certainly deserves lots of credit. So on behalf of all of you fans I would like to thank Todd, congratulate him and hope for 100 more of these great readings! Thank you so much!

April 27th 2003: Good news! The draw for the tournament in Warsaw is now out:) You can see it here.

April 26th 2003: Well we are only hours away from getting the draw for the Warsaw tournament. Jelena should be the #4 seed behind Venus Williams, Amelie Mauresmo and Daniela Hantuchova....

April 25th 2003: Will Jelena represent Australia in the Olympics? Or Fed Cup? The question still remains but what seems clear is that she did not talk about it to either Alicia Molik or Nicole Pratt yet, read about it here.

April 24th 2003: Today we added another translation of the biography, this time in Indonesian:)

April 23rd 2003: The British Tennis magazine "Ace" published its list of the sexiest tennis players in the world and Jelena ranked #6. Anna Kournikova is #1 with Daniela Hantuchova following her..

April 22nd 2003: As promised, here are links to the two latest releases of Todd Spiker, this week's edition of WTA Backspin and the second monthly quiz:) Test your knowledge here! By the way, just a short note to let you know that Jelena is one of 7 top 10 players who has confirmed her presence in Montreal this summer, so I'll be there taking notes and photos for you guys:)

April 21st 2003: Well with Jelena being inactive, we will not have a new Jelena Corner column this week, but I will soon post links to Todd's weekly WTA Backspin column as well as his monthly quiz:) Sad? Well I've got some great news to cheer you up as Jelena is now back in the top 10:)

April 20th 2003: Some surprising news is coming out of Australia as apparently Jelena will try to represent Australia in the 2004 Olympic games. To be eligible, she will need to play 2 Fed Cup ties, you can read an article about it here. Thanks to Thomas for the link..

April 19th 2003: Today I added another translation, this time in Bulgarian:) Thanks to Alex for doing it:) The biography is now in 11 languages with more to come:)

April 18th 2003: Well with a day without any tennis, we still have an interesting update as we added another translation of our biography:) You can read a filipino translation here. Thanks to Nikola and Jacs for their help:)

April 17th 2003: Bad day indeed as Jelena and Rennae Stubbs lost their doubles match against Tu/ Vento-Kabachi 3-6, 7-6, 7-5:(

April 17th 2003: Quite a disapointing result for Jelena today as she was defeated 6-3, 6-7, 6-2 by American Lisa Raymond:(.. Hopefully she can make up for that loss in doubles later today, you can read a preview here.

April 16th 203: You can now read a preview for Jelena's 3rd round against Lisa Raymond here. That match is the second one scheduled on centre court tomorrow.

April 16th 2003: Jelena advanced to the third round in Amelia Island with a 7-5, 5-7, 6-1 win over Tina Pisnik! Next up for Jelena will be Lisa Raymond!

April 13th 2003: Time to get back to work for Jelena as she now plays in the Amelia Island tournament set to start tomorrow. You can see the draw here. In singles, she has a first round bye and will then face either Jennifer Hopkins or Tina Pisnik. And in doubles, Jelena teams up with Rennae Stubbs, the Australian who has been in the #1 ranked doubles team for most of the past few years and was now openly searching for a teammate after splitting with Lisa Raymond, should be interesting:) You can see a tournament preview by J.M. here.

April 12th 2003: HAPPY BIRTHDAY JELENA!!! Our best wishes for you in 2003, family, love, success and everything else you want, including a first grand slam title:)

April 11th 2003: Unfortunately, Jelena lost her quarterfinal match today against still undefeated Serena Williams 6-2, 6-2...

April 10th 2003: Jelena and Daniela lost their opening match in doubles against Harkleroad and Washington. Although excuses are never good, both had played not long before (Daniela even played 2 singles matches today)

April 10th 2003: Wow, what a match today as Jelena advanced to the quarterfinals with a 4-6, 6-4, 7-5 comeback win against Elena Dementieva! She will now however face world #1 Serena Williams who is undefeated in 2003! But still, congrats to Jelena on a great fight!

April 9th 2003: Congrats to Jelena who advanced to the third round in Charleston today with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Maja Matevzic. She will now face Elena Dementieva.

April 8th 2003: Hello to all of you!:) Well Jelena will be in action against Maja Matevzic tomorrow morning at 10AM local time on "Club court", the second biggest court.

April 7th 2003: Jelena has teamed up with Daniela Hantuchova in doubles this week, they are the #4 seeds and have received a first round bye. They will then face either Washington/ Harkleroad or Jidkova/Hopkins.

April 5th 2003: I'm not exactly sure when the draw for next week's tournament in Charleston will be out but in the meantime, we added a Polish translation of the biography!:)

April 3rd 2003: Sad news as Nadja had to withdraw from both singles and doubles because of an injury:( Let's wish her a fast recovery:)

April 3rd 2003: Jelena and Nadja will be playing their second round doubles match vs. Asagoe/ Miyagi today! The match is sheduled as third match on Court 1. First match starts at 11am local time. You can read a preview here.

April 2nd 2003: Today, we decided to help Enrique Bernoldi out by posting Jelena's bio in his native language, portuguese:) Many thanks to Nelson for sending it over:)

April 1st 2003: This is no April's fool, Jelena did lose her first round match today in Sarasota, a 6-3, 6-3 loss to Paola Suarez!:(
