May 11th 2008; Jelena is scheduled to be back in action next week in the 25K Caserta event. She will face #1 seed Jorgelina Cravero in her 1st round... more infos soon!

May 10th 2008: Awesome news! Jelena won her first ever ITF event, winning the final of the 25K Florence event 6-1, 6-3 against Lucie Hracecka..!! Well done:) With this win, Jelena will advance about 100 positions in the world rankings a week from now:) Many thanks to Gianluca who sent 4 photos, see them here, here, here and here.

May 9th 2008: Another nice win for Jelena, this time as she won her semifinal match 6-3, 6-3 against Anna Schaefer!! Well done:) She will face Lucie Hracecka in the final...go Jela:)

May 8th 2008: Jelena continued her road, she posted another win, this time a 6-1, 6-2 routine win over Elisa Balsamo!!! Next up will be Mirjana Lucic! You can see a photo of Jelena from Florence here:)

May 7th 2008: Jelena won her first round in the Florence main draw 7-5, 6-2 against Giulia Gabba! Next up is Elisa Balsamo!!

May 4th 2008: Jelena is back in action playing a 25K qualifying event in Florence, Italy!!! She needs to make the main draw to actually score WTA points! Yesterday, Jelena defeated Camila Giorgi 0-6, 6-4, 6-2 and then today she won her 2nd match 6-0, 6-1 against Florence Haring!!! Next up for Jelena will be Giulia Gabba.

April 29th 2008: Jelena's run in Fes came to an end unfortunately today as she lost 6-4, 6-2 to Greta Arn. Still, congrats on her 3 wins...!

April 28th 2008: Jelena continued her road as she reached the main draw, she defeated Johanna Larsson 1-6, 6-2, 6-3!

April 27th 2008: Wow, awesome news as Jelena continued her run, she defeated Michelle Larcher De Brito 6-3, 7-5. In the final qualifying match, she will face Sweden's Johanna Larsson!

April 26th 2008: Great great news! Jelena won her 1st qualifying match 6-2, 6-1 against Sophie Lefevre in Fes! She will now a much tougher test against young talent Michelle Larcher De Brito

April 24th 2008: Awesome news as Jelena is back in action this weekend as she will play in Fes, Morocco qualifying. She got a wild card and will face France's Sophie Lefevre, ranked #509 in the world. You can see the full draw here.

February 15th 2008: Jelena's now hoping to return to action on March 9th in a 10K event in Rome..!

January 29th 2008: Just an update on Jelena, she has signed up to play in the 25K event in Capriolo, Italy in mid-February..!  More news soon!

January 10th 2008: Good news as Jelena won her match today in the Australian Open, Qual. as she defeated M. Erakovic with a 6-4, 6-1 win, she will now face Tamarine Tanasugarn

January 8th 2008: Jelena eventually withdrew from her match today while trailing 5-0 because of an ankle injury.. no word yet on the possibility she'll be in the Australian Open qualifying that starts Thursday!

January 7th 2008: Wow! Jelena posted a 4th straight win in Hobart! Something she has not done in a WTA tour event in several years! She defeated world #54 Martina Muller 6-4, 0-6, 6-2!!! She will now face Italy's Flavia Pennetta in the 2nd draw!

January 6th 2008: Wow, another match, another win for Jelena:) She won 6-2, 6-3 against Yaroslava Shvedova, who is #83 in the world!!

January 5th 2008: Awesome news! Jelena defeated Yvonne Meusberger with a 6-3, 6-2 win today in Hobart thus reaching the final qualifying round! She will now face Yaroslava Shvedova or K. Wlodarczak..!

January 4th 2008: Jelena was in action today in Hobart trying to qualify for the main draw. She played against Evgenia Linetskaya who also injured for most of last year...After a slower start, Jelena fought back and won 3-6, 6-4, 6-1!! She will now face Yvonne Meusberger..! January 2nd 2008: More news about Jelena:) She is now in Hobart where she will be playing qualifying starting on Friday! More news will follow shortly!

December 19th 2007: Uhh.. tough news as Jelena lost her quarterfinal match, she injured her groin and stopped playing while down 6-3, 3-1:(... She still has a very good shot at receiving a qualifying wild card for the Australian Open. Let's hope the injury is not too serious... However, some good news as Jelena asked and received a wild card for the qualifying event in Hobart that starts January 6th...:)

December 17th 2007: Jelena defeated Wlodarzak6-2, 2-6, 6-4 to end the round robbin match.. she will now play in the quarterfinals against Rogowska...!

December 16th 2007: Jelena won her 2nd match as well!! She defeated Christina Wheeler 3-6, 7-6(0), 6-3!! Although Jelena has one more match left in the round robbin (tomorrow against Karolina Wlodarczak), she has now qualified for the quarterfinals that start Wednesday. "I haven't played matches in a long time. Obviously, my fitness is not there yet. But it will just take a lot of matches like this. You know, I play much much better than this in practices, so I need to be able to put that into my matches," she said."To get a win … without being at my best today, gives me, gives me more confidence, but I still have a lot of things to work on." "You know, I haven't … really played a competitive match, a proper match on the tour, for more than two years. These girls are actually supposed to beat me. So I don't think I have any pressure on me. I've proved that I can play tennis with the best, and I have nothing to prove."

December 15th 2007: More good news:) Jelena won her first match in Melbourne, she defeated Alenka Hubacek 7-6, 6-0!! Next up will be Christina Wheeler... go Jelena:) "It was much better than I thought it would be,'' said Dokic following her first match since returning to Melbourne in October."Not my best match obviously but very happy for the first one and I just have to try and build on this.There's a long way to go. I didn't pretty much touch my racquet for six months and fitness either, so I've come a long way and done as much as I can do in training. "My next part is to try and build on my matches and play well in my matches which is very tough.''

December 14th 2007: Jelena's first round opponent will be 17 year-old Alenka Hubacek, a good challenge for sure! It is scheduled to be played tomorrow... go Jelena:)

December 8th 2007: Jelena is now one week ago from starting the Aus Open Wild Card playoff, the top ranked player will be #142 Jarila Gajdosova.

December 2nd 2007: Do you like the new photo of Jelena on the right? Not bad hey? Jelena is still training hard in Melbourne. "I needed some time away from the game to sort through some personal issues but now I'm back and very focused," Dokic told The Sunday Age. "I've been working very hard in training and I'm hopeful that things turn out well." "I'd love to play in the Australian Open again," Dokic said. "… I'd like to think that by the end of 2008, I could be somewhere in the top 50."
