Barabanschikova.com History

So shortly after that summer, I started building "A dedication to Olga Barabanschikova", it was one of my first experiences in building a webpage and it was certainly a challenge to build something like this. At the start, it was really, really tough to get the slightest info or photos of Olga and Jonathan and I were looking all over finding almost nothing!

A lot of stuff happened in 1999, our second year following Olga and in my opinion the breakthrough year for this page. First of all, we were very disapointed when Olga missed the Australian Open that year and had trouble understanding why... That's when we got lucky enough to be contacted by Ash, Olga's friend who explained to us that Olga had been injured.... In 1999, we got in contact with so many people who helped us either with news or with photos! A big big thanks to Rus, Alien Crew and Gav who were of enourmous help!

Also it is in 1999 that we got a chance to do a live chat with Olga! Wow, it was pretty much unbeleivable for all fans that got a chance to attend the chat... It went great, let's hope we get a chance to do another one some day!:))

Through chatting and e-mails Jonathan and I were really looking forward to seeing Olga in Toronto, it was supposed to be so great... Unfortunatly, a few days before, we learned Olga could not make the trip...it was a disaster!:((( We had received e-mails that we were supposed to give her, had bought many many camera films and were all ready but we had to settle for seeing her in Montreal in 2000...
