A dedication to Olga Barabanschikova

Barabanschikova.com History

This page will try to help you retrace how this page was created and how it evolved getting to this point. It all started at Wimbledon 1998 when I (Pierre) was just sitting in my living room watching Wimbledon. I managed to catch a bit of the match between #1 seed Martina Hingis and Olga! I was stunned at Olga's beauty and the way she played, it was incredible! After that, I kept following her results through the net even though they were hard to find...

Later that summer, a cool cloudy sunday, I was at the Du Maurier Open in Montreal as I was a volunteer... That morning while I was talking to Jonathan (co-webmaster), I told him I had to leave to get to see Olga's singles match against Anna Smashnova... Unfortunatly she lost that match but still managed to get my attention! The following days, Jonathan got to see her practice along with 2 other of our friends, we followed her around even though we didn't talk with her or anything! We were just very impressed with the way she was acting. For those of you who have never seen Olga play live, you've missed something. She is like no others, she has so much fun and is really nice with everyone. Olga is truly one if not the most interesting personnality on the WTA tour and she has made it a lot of fun for us to do this page.
