The Australian Open
tickets are a lot easier than Wimbledon or Roland Garros but still
require some patience and organisation if you want to buy them.
Who sells the tickets? The
Australian Open tickets are sold through Ticketek, a ticket agency in
Australia.
When are they put on sale? They are
put on sale on various dates. Initially in the fall, they open up
various multi-ticket packages. You can buy tickets for the first 5
days for their the day or evening session for example.
What kind of tickets are available?
Melbourne Park has two main stadiums that contain reserved seating,
centre court, which is named Rod Laver Arena, and Vodafone Arena (the
2nd biggest arena). Like other slams, you can also buy ground tickets.
The tickets for Rod Laver and Vodafone stadiums are for either the day
or the evening session while the ground passes can be used for the
entire day.
Are they expensive? The Australian
Open tickets are probably the cheapest on average of any of the 4
slams. As well, the discounts offered when buying multiple day
packages are significant. Here are the prices for the individual
tickets for the 2006 event:
