Born on August 27th 1976 in Palma de Mallorca (Spain), Carlos Moya Llompart began playing tennis at age six. After turning Pro in 1995, he reached his first Grand Slam final in 1997 at the Australian Open ; next year, he won Roland Garros by defeating Alex Corretja in three sets. After being #1 for the first time in 1999, he consistently played outstanding tennis and is still one of the best players in the world and has maintained a top 10 position.
