Andre Kirk Agassi was born April 29, 1970 in Las Vegas, Nevada. His passion for tennis began started when he was only four, as he was hitting with great tennis players like Bjorn Borg and Harold Solomon. He was introduced to tennis by his father, former boxer who participated to the Olympics in 1952. Since then, he has won an incredible number of titles, seven of them being Grand Slam titles. Andre has a big heart and he has participated in many charity organisations, and he even founded the Andre Agassi Charitable Association, which assists the youth of Las Vegas. In 1995, he has won 1995's ATP Arthur Ashe's Humanitarian award in recognition of his efforts helping disadvantaged youth in LA. Recently, Agassi has gotten as far as the finals of the 2002 US Open. This shows that even tough he's been in the ATP for some time, Andre still has the passion for tennis and his career is far from over. |
