December 16th 2008: Lleyton and wife Bec had a 2nd child, a baby boy named Cruz:) Congrats!

October 7th 2008: Lleyton announced he should be returning to action in the Sydney International in January. “My recovery is going well and I am really looking forward to the Australian summer,” he said in a statement Tuesday. “It is an exciting time for me. I am already feeling refreshed, reinvigorated and excited about the challenge ahead.” Hewitt has won the Sydney title on four occasions, most recently in 2005. “Sydney is a happy hunting ground for me,” he said. “Some good hard matches in Sydney will certainly help me in my preparation for the 2009 Australian Open.”

August 19th 2008: Lleyton unfortunately announced he would be unable to play at the US Open as he will undergo surgery. “Surgery was always the last resort, but unfortunately that’s what it came down to,” the former world No. 1 said. “I am also shattered that I can’t lead the Australian Davis Cup team in Chile in our bid to rejoin the world group, and hope that the boys can still come through with a great win.”

August 12th 2008: Sad news as Lleyton lost his match today in the Summer Olympics as he lost to Spain's Rafael Nadal 1-6, 2-6.

August 11th 2008: Good news as Lleyton won his match today in the Summer Olympics as he defeated Sweden's Jonas Bjorkman with a 7-5, 7-6 win, he will now face Rafael Nadal.

June 30th 2008: Sad news as Lleyton lost his match today in the Wimbledon as he lost to Switzerland's Roger Federer 7-6, 6-2, 6-4.

June 27th 2008: Good news as Lleyton won his match today in the Wimbledon as he defeated Italy's Simon Bolelli with a 6-1, 6-3, 7-6 win, he will now face Roger Federer.

June 27th 2008: Lleyton was fined 1000$ yesterday for his unsportsmanlike conduct during his 2nd round match as he disputed some foot fault calls. "I'm not sure how many (foot faults) got called in the end (but) for some reason there's only one person that kept calling (them). We played two-and-a-half sets without that one person when they changed people, and then the same bloke came back again and I got done again," Hewitt said.

May 8th 2008: Lleyton is still having problems with his hip injury and is unsure if he will play in Hamburg and the French Open. His manager commented a bit. "When it comes to a grand slam, Lleyton always wants to play," Drysdale said. "More rest may effectively put that scenario (playing the French) in doubt," Drysdale said.
