Saturday November 5, 2005 PETROVA FORCED TO WITHDRAW FROM THE ADVANTA CHAMPIONSHIPS PHILADELPHIA, PA USA – Nadia Petrova has been forced to withdraw from this week’s Advanta Championships due to a right heel bruise, which she sustained during her quarterfinal match yesterday. Petrova was scheduled to play world No.10 Elena Dementieva in the semifinals today. “I am very disappointed that I can’t play today,” Petrova stated. “I was looking forward to my semifinal match and have always enjoyed playing in the Advanta Championships. The draw is still very exciting with Dementieva, (Amelie) Mauresmo and (Nicole) Vaidisova going for the title.” Dementieva will now await the winner of today’s semifinal match between Advanta Championships two time defending champion Amelie Mauresmo and 16-year-old phenom Nicole Vaidisova, who is currently on an 18-match win-streak. Petrova’s next scheduled event is the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour Championships presented by Porsche, November 8 -13, 2005 at the STAPLES Center. Visit the Nadia Petrova page here
