There were no surprises as Spaniard toughie Rafael Nadal cruised to the third round of the Monte-Carlo Masters for the second time in his career by defeating Beligian Xaviert Malisse in two staight sets 6-0,6-3.

Rafael seemed as determined as anything to win the match giving Xavier no mercy whatsoever by winning most of the rallies and making three smash winners in the beginning of the first set.

In the second set,Xavier tried to make a comeback by placing himself in a 3-3 tie with the teenage sensation but that was all the glory he got as immediately Rafael took the second set.

The whole match took an hour and twenty-two minutes to complete and will see Rafael face another Beligian Oliver Rochus who advanced to the third round by defeatng Thomas Berdych.
