Rafael loses in quaterfinals

by Agnes Oshineyemi

Teenage Spanish sensation Rafael Nadal was halted by Russian Igor Andreev from advancing to the semifinals of the Open de Tenis Comunidad Valenciana in Valencia,Spain. The Russian winning two sratight sets 7-5,6-2.

A very tired looking Nadal who reached the finals of last week's Nasdaq Open clamied that tiredness was the problem to his defeat saying:"I had a very tough match,he played very well and defeated me...The tiredness was something that could happen and that indeed happened".

Onlookers claimed that Igor played well but Rafael barely moved and hit a lot of unforced errors, making him drop his serve to lose the first set and lose his serve more than twice in the secnd set.

"The positive of this loss is I get a bit of time to prepare for Monte Carlo because I have a pair of days to train well",Nadal said.

His next tournament will be the tennis masters series in Monte Carlo where he will be seeded no.17
