Hey! Venus is into her second straight final and I am overjoyed as is Venus. Venus routinely beat Vera Zvonareva to advance to the finals! Another woman who gets some props is Jelena Jankovic. She upset Pennetta to reach her first career final in Budapest. The Hungarians have something to be happy about as the doubles event will be won by at least one Hungarian as Mandula and Schett play Nemeth and Szavay! Enjoy the preview!

Svetlana Kuznetsova versus Venus Williams

Another great match for Venus yesterday as she routed the Russian Zvonareva 6-3 6-2! I was actually a little surprised at this result because Vera is so tough on red clay but she looked tired and Venus capitalized. As I have stated the whole week her winning % on her first serve was phenomenal with 68%. Venus has lost just 14 games this week which means she is definitley controlling the big points. With the exception of her blip in the first set against Zuluaga, she's had very routine sets. Yesterday Zvonareva challenged her throughout but was just too fatigued. In this match against Kuznetsova, look for Venus to really try and up the anty on her serve and intimidate the Russian. If her first serve stats are like that she should have easy service games. She is also looking for revenge against Svetlana who beat her earlier in the year in the Middle East 6-3 6-2!

Weakness: Unforced errors.

The first time I saw Svetlana was in '02 when she played doubles with Spanish legend Aranxta Sanchez-Vicario. Aranxta took the young Russian under wings and really helped develop her into the player she is today. She has also had some help from tennis legend period, Martina Navratilova. They were a great tandem in doubles last year and Martina really helped her prodige focus and concentrate on the big points. Svetlana is a teenager but she is pretty wise. She has only dropped 11 games this week which included an 0 and 1 thrashing of up and comer Douchevina. In this mathc look for Lana to try and come to net a lot as she is one of the best volleyers in the world.

Weakness: Venus may get off to an early lead which may frustrate Lana.

Who has the Edge?

Serve- Venus effectively but Kuznetsova power wise.
Groundies- Venus
Movement- Venus
Intangibles- Lana
Volley- Lana
This could and should be an entertaining final with some volleying and long rallies. For Lana, try and dominate the points from the get go and don't let Venus overpower you from the net. For Venus, use your serve to the best of its effectiveness and cut the errors down.

Matt's Pick: Venus will win a hard fought match 7-5 6-3, therefore leading their series 2-1!

Thanks
