Kim Wins First Title of the Season By Naomi C Kim Clijsters successfully won her 20th career title on Sunday defeating Mary Pierce 6-2 6-1 in the final on the court of Pierre De Coubertin Stadium in Paris. Kim was making her debut at the Paris tournament and after struggling to make the semi final raised her game to another level for the final two matches. Kim lost only 5 games in the semi and final combined. This win also ensures Kim maintains an impeccable indoors record which has seen her win at least one title indoors in every year of her professional career, dating back to Luxembourg in 1999 when Kim was just 16 years old. Kim has won her last 3 indoor tournaments and has won her last 13 indoor matches. Kim was able to serve well today and went unbroken for the entire match. With her father watching on, Kim dominated Pierce with hard ground stokes and was also able to come to the net. Kim was thus able to complete the perfect preparation for the Proximus Diamond Games in Antwerp next week. Visit the Kim Clijsters page here
