Daniela… time for a new Coach? Maybe…
by Maria Nguyen Why is Daniela doing so badly in her matches? That’s the question going through everyone’s mind… the answer: Nigel Sears is the problem. From what I know and have discussed with other fans, mostly everyone think it’s time to move onto a new coach, that Nigel has brought Daniela as far as he could already. Anyone want to be Daniela’s new coach? Martina Navratilova is up for the spot. Some people thinks that Martina would be an excellent coach for Daniela because Martina knows what to expect since she was one of the best tennis players around, and she is STILL doing excellent in her doubles even though she is at her late-40s! I agree that Martina WOULD be an outstanding coach for Daniela since she was Daniela’s mentor but right now would not be a good time for a new coach. One reason is because Daniela wouldn’t think of abandoning Nigel right now, not after how far he has gotten here last year. Their bond is close that it’ll be heartbreaking for Daniela to end the relationship. Yah, it’s not about the bond of your relationship with your coach, but still, Daniela is such a nice girl who puts everyone’s feelings ahead of her that I can’t picture Daniela breaking it off with Nigel, not now though. Nigel has been such a great support for Daniela and has helped her reach her goals numerous times, but his magic is running out. You can get your player so far, after that there is not much to do. Nigel and Daniela have been working for months now and nothing new is coming up in Daniela’s game, physically, Daniela is stronger, but mentally Daniela is not there. I think we should give this team of Daniela and Nigel, a year or so… SEE if anything improves or DON’T improve, then we can decide if it’s a good idea for Daniela to get a new coach… or maybe I should say DANIELA can decided if she should get a new coach, after all it IS up to her. As I said numerous times before that you would be sick of hearing it, Daniela is MENTALLY struggling. Nigel and Daniela have to work on THAT part before anything else, I just hope it’ll be sooner because I know Daniela fans aren’t even patience at all! Visit the Daniela Hantuchova webpage here
